The Ashes Cricket Betting

The Ashes are known as the prize in a Test cricket series played between Australia and England. The term ‘The Ashes’ originated in a satirical obituary published in The Sporting Times in the UK, right after Australia's 1882 victory at The Oval.  This was Australia’s first ever Test win in England.  The ‘obituary’ stated that English cricket had died, and the body will be cremated and the ashes taken to Australia.  These mythical ‘ashes’ then became associated with the next series held in 1882–83 in Australia.  Whichever side holds the Ashes title, the urn remains in the MCC Museum at Lord's, although it has been taken to Australia to tour on display.  The competition itself is of five Tests, hosted in turn by England and Australia at least once every four years.
