Best Cricket Betting Banking Methods

You want to get started with cricket betting but want to learn about the best services available to deposit and withdraw funds from your account.  I’ve outlined the kinds of banking methods below and the most accepted  methods within each category.  Please note that not all methods or companies are available for use in all countries.  If you read any of my respective cricket sportsbook reviews or visit the sportsbook itself, you may see the banking method logos denoting a mark of acceptance.  However, if you are in a country that the banking methods company does not service, you won’t be able to use it.  I address some of these limitations in my research involving the best cricket betting by country.  At the bottom of this page, I list all the sportsbooks that I include in my list for the best cricket sportsbooks regardless of market served, so use this page in concert with my other research to ensure the sportsbook you pick will service your country and currency (where possible).

Credit Cards like Visa and MasterCard bay be accepted by nearly every site in my list. Availability depends on where you live.  On limited occasions, you may also see JCB, Diners Club and AMEX. Depending on where you live, your credit card company may treat transactions with sportsbooks as cash advances, not purchases.  This means that your transaction will  be eligible for interest charges from the moment of the transaction.  Check to see if this is in fact the case with your particular card if you wish to avoid these interest charges.  Although Maestro and Visa Debit and Visa Electron are considered “debit” solutions, as they are essentially prepaid versions of their related credit cards, I include them here as you do not debit a bank account.

Entropay is essentially a virtual Visa card which is prepaid - meaning there is no credit check or application required.  It allows you to pay instantly and privately so that you don’t share your financial information with the betting service, and your card statement won’t have a betting-related charge listed, but rather “Entropay”.  You can load your virtual Entropay Visa by using an actual credit card, your debit card or with your bank transfer and funds can easily be paid back onto your Entropay virtual Visa for transfer back to your original funding source.  If your funding source is a credit card, by using Entropay as the intermediary solution, you can avoid potential cash advance interest charges that might be applicable in your jurisdiction as your transaction with them will be treated as a purchase, not a cash advance.

Paysafecard is a prepaid voucher solution that is available for purchase in retail locations around the world in many local currencies and is available in various denominations such as $10, $30, $50 or $100.  Each card has a unique 16-digit PIN.  Several cards can be combined to deposit larger amounts.  You may combine up to ten cards for payments up to $1,000.  Simply visit their website to find a local retailer near you.

If you want to use funds from your bank account directly, there are a multitude of options depending on where you live:

Poli allows Australians and New Zealanders the ability to create a link to their bank account for the purposes of online payments.

Sofort allows people throughout Europe to simply transact using their bank account with all kinds of online services including sportsbooks.  You don’t even need to register an account with Sofort.  It acts as a portal between your bank and the sportsbook.

UseMyFunds are a global providing customers with the ability to pay online directly with their bank account.  If you visit their website, you will see a number of countries are served including all the banks in each country that are able to link up with them.

Instadebit allows Canadians to  essentially write an online cheque.  You don’t fund an Instadebit account from another funding source as it is NOT an e-wallet.  You use Instadebit like a cheque to create a link between your bank and your merchant of choice, in this case your sportsbook.

Interac Email Money Transfers are only accepted by Bodog, both are only for Canadians.  You can access Interac transfers in your online banking profile from any major Canadian bank.  The Interac-set limit for transactions is currently $1,000.  Funding your Bodog account with this method is as simple as sending an email.

iDebit facilitates inexpensive online banking transfers.  Move money to and from your iDebit account with your Canadian bank account up to a limit of $1,000 per transaction.  Fees to move money using iDebit are around one or two dollars per transaction. Creating your account is free.

Bank Wire Transfers are available at most sportsbooks and in almost every country of the world for transfer to sportsbooks.  Wire transfers may take a little longer to settle as a transaction but this method generally allows for extremely high limits and is thus very good for high rollers.

Skrill, Neteller, EcoPayz and Paypal are some of the names you may have heard for online payments and transfers.  These are often referred to as e-wallets.  With them, you can link a credit card or bank account as a funding source to deposit money into your sportsbook account, or conversely, use them to withdraw winnings.  The benefit of these e-wallet providers is that they allow you to move money electronically for very low fees, in very little time.  Depositing money is nearly instantaneous, and withdrawals are often processed within 48 hours at most sportsbooks, sometimes, within 24 hours.

Although these can be the most convenient use of moving even large sums of money for the reasons listed above, there are some jurisdictions where their use for moving money to sportsbooks has been prohibited.  For example, Paypal is generally only used for such transfers in certain European countries.  Skrill and Neteller have also ceased betting and gaming transactions for customers in Canada.  Laws in the USA also prohibit any such transactions for betting related use.  Other than these exclusions, for the most part no matter where you are, at least one of these e-wallets will be accepted and available for your use.
